COVID-19 Updates

We appreciate our community’s commitment to therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic, and are dedicated to keeping you informed of all changes, policies and protocols.

Please note that office procedures are subject to change at any time according to CDC, federal, or state guidelines, or at the discretion of the Therapy For The People Co-Working Space team. Telehealth will remain an option for the foreseeable future. We will make our best efforts to keep this page up to date.

Updated May 12, 2023: Effective Monday, May 15, clients, therapists, and guests to the Therapy For The People offices may now choose to voluntarily wear a mask in the common spaces. TFTP appreciates your commitment to community care by masking if you have any symptoms of illness (of any kind) or live with or have recently spent time with someone who is symptomatic. Please continue to request a telehealth session if you are sick. Caring for the immunocompromised community remains especially important during this time of COVID-safe protocols loosening with the end of the federal state of emergency; we thank you for doing your part! Lastly, please note it is at the discretion of every TFTP co-working member (your therapist) to determine the masking guidelines for inside the therapy office during your session time. Please discuss any questions with your provider. Thank you!

Update July 21, 2022: Starting today, the Therapy For The People Co-Working Space offices is open to clients regardless of vaccination status — however, requirements for in-person sessions are at the sole discretion of each therapist. Check with your therapist about requirements (masking, vaccination status, etc) for in-person sessions. ALL OTHER REQUIREMENTS REMAIN IN EFFECT: masking in the building and common areas; sanitizing hands before entering the offices; staying home if you have tested positive for or are having symptoms of COVID 19 or other contagious illness; therapists will comply with thorough office cleaning guidelines.

Update, July 1, 2021: Starting Monday, August 2, 2021 the Therapy For The People Co-Working Space offices will begin a phased re-opening for in-person sessions. At this time, this is offered to vaccinated clients only. Non-vaccinated clients are encouraged to discuss needs and options with their TFTP provider. More information listed below.

Update, March 13, 2020: Due to the public health emergency of the coronavirus/COVID-19 and recommendations by the CDC, our Portland office is closed to clients and visitors until further notice, effective immediately. All providers at TFTP are currently seeing clients via telehealth - virtual therapy sessions you can participate in from your home.

Telehealth Options

All TFTP providers offer services via telehealth - virtual therapy sessions you can participate in from a remote location, such as your home or another private setting. Telehealth has demonstrated great benefits of being able to participate in therapy while remaining safe at home. Telehealth has also provided greater access to those seeking care who do not live in the Portland area. Telehealth services will remain an option even when in-person sessions are available.

In Person Therapy Sessions

In person services will resume on Monday, August 2, 2021 for vaccinated clients. All TFTP providers are vaccinated and agree to be accountable to all safety guidelines to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission while working in the office, and in their personal lives. We are committed to following CDC guidelines on maintaining a safe and clean office environment. We have recently installed air purifiers in every office and the waiting room. We clean offices daily, and sanitize common areas frequently.

All clients must agree to our Informed Consent for Providing Services During COVID-19 Pandemic. View PDF here.
