About Me

Therapy as a Tool for Understanding

We live in a busy, complex world, where slowing down and addressing the emotions and challenges that arise in our lives often takes a backseat. As a result, we can spend our days reacting to, or struggling to avoid, feelings of depression, anxiety, anger, grief, and shame. Therapy is a powerful tool that can help us make sense of these emotional and behavioral patterns, and manage them so we can live richer, more authentic lives. I bring a holistic, compassionate approach to each person I work with, as well as an intersectional understanding of how everyone’s specific location in society uniquely affects their lives.

Supporting You

I utilize a number of modalities to best support you, but often work with acceptance & commitment therapy, mindfulness, parts work, and psychodynamic techniques. My practice focuses on anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, parenthood, relationships, sexuality, chronic illness, and the unique issues arising from identifying as LGBTQIA+ in our society. Meeting with a new therapist can feel daunting. I believe the most important aspect of therapy is the connection and rapport between client and therapist, in a space where one feels safe, heard, and accepted. I draw from my experiences within artistic, queer, and sex-positive communities to aid in providing compassionate and meaningful treatment for all.
